Lundbeck, the stench of death

August 1, 2011 - Lundbeck, the stench of death
Are we surprised? The Lundbeck saga is turning into a mini-series, at the height of hypocrisy and pathetic behavior.

More than 7 months after the first Lundbeck patient was killed in Oklahoma on December 16, 2010; and almost one month to the day after its triumphant announcement that Lundbeck decided to implement a controlled distribution system in the US to restrict access to the infamous pentobarbital; now get this: on July 26th, Dara Kam for the Palm Beach Post in Florida writes a piece about the stay of execution granted to Lundbeck’s patient Manuel Valle. She writes:
“But Lundbeck Inc., the Danish manufacturer of pentobarbital, recently announced that the drug is untested and unsafe for use in lethal injections. Lundbeck stopped selling the drug to distributors who intended to resell it for use in executions.”
This killing nonsense is getting worse every day. It took more than 7 months for Lundbeck to state that pentobarbital is untested and unsafe ? WOW! Talk about a fast and spontaneous reaction! If it did not take a rocket scientist to work this out from day 1, it obviously took a lot longer for pharmaceutical scientists to get their brain in a thinking and communication mode.
So what’s next? How much longer is Lundbeck continue to disseminate its diatribe of good intentions before actually taking legal action against the DOCs that have legally purchased the drug for a purpose not recommended by its manufacturer?
With 23 dead patients’ bodies decaying in its head offices in Copenhagen, no wonder Lundbeck has hired a new ventilation technician, the smell must have been unbearable, but not as unbearable as the lives of its dead patients’ families. Recently, Lundbeck has also recruited a neurologist, Dr. Deborah Lee, evidently they have good reasons to be overstressed, but not as much as their patients waiting in line to die because of their criminal negligence and the many months of free and legal access to pentobarbital in the United States.
The message to Lundbeck: get real and do it fast! Your lab still is a death lab, unless you prove otherwise, nothing won’t change anything soon.
